Pineola Presbyterian Church is selling Cookbooks to raise funds for a roof for the church, cost is $15/each; for more information call 733-0120, add $3 for shipping if you need the cookbook mailed. Books also available at a number of local businesses (Lowery’s BBQ, Mountain Jewelers, Cynthia Dean’s Hair Studio, Hollywood Highlights Salon, and more)

A 13 week session of DivorceCare started January 15th and continues each Sunday night (weather permitting) at 5:30 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Banner Elk. Each session can be a “stand alone” session but it is recommended that you attend as many sessions as possible to receive the full benefit. DivorceCare is designed to promote healing to those hurting from the pain of separation, divorce, grief, or loss of a significant relationship. For more information call: 828-898-2905.

The SCOTTIE Mobile Pre-K (click for information) is out and about and if you have a child who would be eligible for the classes but are unable to attend Pre-K, this is a service of the Avery Public School System and Smart Start.
